A tale of 40 years in the making, Larger Than Life: The Art of Tony Natsoulas takes us through the artist’s growth from student at UC Davis (M.F.A. ’85), where he studied with esteemed first-generation artists including Robert Arneson, to exhibiting in galleries and museums around the world. Natsoulas’ humorous, large-scale figurative ceramic pieces are regularly exhibited and are in 15 museums’ permanent collections, including a large sculpture recently acquired by San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. In 2004, he was named “One of the Top 100 Craft Artists living in the USA today” by the Smithsonian. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
