The City of Davis announced today that there will be a free July 4th celebration on Thursday, July 4, 2024, from 4 – 10 p.m. at Community Park, located at 203 E. 14th Street in Davis.
The schedule and activities include, but are not limited to:
All attendees are encouraged to ride a bike or walk if possible as vehicle parking will be limited. The off-leash dog area in Community Park will be closed on July 4. Self-serve bike parking will be available in the park, however bike parking may get full quickly. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to pack plenty of water, sunscreen and a picnic dinner while supporting local non-profit groups by purchasing snacks and treats at the event.
“All are invited to enjoy games, live music and fireworks at the City’s annual July 4 celebration,” said Davis Mayor Josh Chapman. “A big thanks to the team of staff who work behind the scenes to create such a pleasurable and fun experience for our whole community.”
Please note that this display is the only safe and legal use of fireworks that is allowed by the City of Davis. For public safety, a City ordinance prohibits the use or discharge of fireworks or any substances designed for pyrotechnic display. The sale of any type of fireworks within the City of Davis boundaries is also prohibited.
As fireworks can be triggering for both people and pets, helpful tips and information are available on the City of Davis website at: https://cityofdavis.org/July4th.
The event is sponsored in part by Dos Coyotes, Discovery Christian Church, Sol at West Village and the Davis Live Music Collective. For additional information, please visit https://cityofdavis.org/July4th or contact Carrie Dyer at 530-757-5602 or via email at [email protected].
