Craig McNamara Talk

Craig McNamara will discuss his recently published memoir, Because Our Fathers Lied, a heartfelt reflection on his relationship with his controversial father, Robert McNamara, who as Secretary of Defense under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson, was the architect of the Vietnam War. Craig came of age in the political tumult of the late 60’s and strongly opposed the war. Haunted by the horrors of the war and his father’s role it it, he traveled to Central and South America to learn the art of farming, so he could make what he defined as an honest living. He later studied agriculture at UCD. He has an organic farm in Winters, CA and is a food and sustainability activist.
