Amanda is a painter, working in oil and acrylic paint, as well as chalk pastel. With a life-long love for art, she pursued and received a bachelor’s in art from the California State University, Sacramento, and a professional associates of art degree in design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco.
After acquiring her degrees, she worked in creative fields including fashion design and graphic design, while still working on her art. She had a piece included in the 2021 and 2022 KVIE Art Auction. She also presented two collections of acrylic landscape paintings at the Artery Davis in 2022 and 2023 and showed a collection of chalk pastel pet portraits at the 2019 RAW Artists show in Sacramento.
Cathie has retired from a life-long career in technical drawing several years ago, and now she has been a full time artist. She has worked in all types of media, including painting, drawing, sculpting with clay, collage, assemblage and fine art photography. Originally a self-taught artist, in 2008 she attended American River College full time in the Art and Photography departments. There she received degrees in Art and Art New Media as well as the Certificate in Freelance Photography. Her current focus is on painting and sculpting in clay at her studio which is part of a group of artists called Arboretum Art Works. Working independently in their own studios, they also participate in the monthly ArtAbout art walks and studio tours in Davis. She has lived in Davis, California since 2015 and has fallen in love with the lifestyle and art community. In September of 2020, she was honored to be selected as a member of The Artery, at 207 G Street in Davis, which allows her to display and sell her work.
