Celebrate Halloween by exploring the fascinating world of the plants that call Putah Creek home, and discover plants’ special skills called adaptations. What’s an adaptation? Find out how they help plants survive through a game show and a scavenger hunt. Create your own franken-plant with special talents that help them survive whether it’s hot, rainy, or snowy! Make a leaf skeleton and even plant your own native plant to take home.
Join Putah Creek Council for free-form and hands-on educational activities and a volunteer stewardship opportunity at Lake Solano Park. Earn your official Plant-palooza badge, and leave with free giveaways like a nature journal and a native plant. No registration required!
Creek Explorers is Putah Creek Council’s new series of free family events that will take place at Lake Solano Park, at 8685 Pleasants Valley Rd in Winters for 20 Saturdays from September 2022–June 2023. See the Creek Explorers page at https://putahcreekcouncil.org/what-we-do/education/creek-explorers/ for the whole calendar of events and more information.
If you have questions, or would like to bring a large group such as a girl scout troop or cub scout pack, to a Creek Explorers event, please email Education Manager Lauren at [email protected].
