The Pamela Trokanski Dance Workshop is celebrating National Arts & Humanities Month by offering free classes throughout the month of October.
Modern/Contemporary Dance began in the late 1800’s / early 1900’s, as an artistic revolution against the dance of its era, and has come to influence Jazz, Ballet, and Hip Hop, becoming an integral part of a dancer’s training. The development of Modern technique, and its evolution into Contemporary, was based on the personal movement philosophies of different individuals, creating multiple approaches to this technical form. We focus on building a strong core, correct alignment, technical vocabulary that includes outward rotation and parallel work, contraction and release, fall and recovery, leaps, turns, jumps, and transitions between movement levels. Our emphasis is on expanding the strength, flexibility, and agility of the dancer’s body, while cultivating their personal vision, expressiveness, and musicality.
This class is for teens and adults.
Class size is limited, so please contact us to register in advance.
