Karen Fess-Uecker developed her technique not through formal schooling but by studying other artists’ work from books, workshops and classes taught by artists she admires. Her work has been shown in numerous juried shows and in the galleries in the many states in which she has resided. She has a strong passion for color dynamics and continues to study color theory with oil painter and colorist Elio Camacho.
“Landscapes are mostly all I paint these days because the subject matter is so available and offers so much beauty. Also my studio is too small to set up still life! Painting plein air gets me out of painting in my studio and breathing fresh air.”
