The well known Serenity Prayer was written by America’s last public theologian, Reinhold Niebuhr. Please join Pastor Wes in the DCC Library for three Sundays starting February 2 for a discussion of Niebuhr’s most influential book, Moral Man and Immoral Society: A Study in Ethics and Politics. Mentioned in MLK’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail” and claimed by politicians from both the right and the left, this book has helped shape public policy since 1932, when it was written. Please read the book if you can, but join the discussion even if you can’t. It will help us think more clearly about how we engage in public discourse.
