In conjunction with the UC Davis Design Museum exhibition  “STILL…Racism in America: A Retrospective in Cartoons,” the School of Education’s Expanding Equity in Educational Research Speaker Series offers a presentation by Enrique García and an interview discussion with cartoonist Barbara Brandon-Croft and exhibition curator Tara Nakashima Donahue on “Comics, Identity & Representation.” The event will be held on Feb. 6 at 6 p.m.

Moderated by the School of Education’s Darnel Degand, the program explores how comics have evolved beyond entertainment to become powerful voices that can educate and inspire readers.

This event begins at 6:00 p.m. in the UC Davis Design Museum, and move to Cruess Hall 1002 at 6:30 p.m. for the program, followed by a catered reception, which begins at 7:45 p.m. The event is free but participants must register here.

STILL: RACISM IN AMERICA, A RETROSPECTIVE IN CARTOONSJan. 23 – April 23, 2024

The UC Davis Design Museum explores racism through cartoons in the installation “STILL: Racism in America, A Retrospective in Cartoons.” Showcasing the work of pioneering father/daughter cartoonists the late Brumsic Brandon, Jr. and Barbara Brandon-Croft, the exhibition runs Jan. 23 through April 21, 2024.
