TILLYfest – BLUEGRASS WOODLAND celebrates the life and times of Yolo County’s Holstein Queen and internationally renowned milk producer – Champion Tilly Alcartra, 1908-1924. Her reputation was unsurpassed, setting world records from 1914-1920.
The FREE festival will feature Bluegrass at Blue Note Brewing and at Heritage Plaza, Country Western at The Burger Saloon, and other forms of American roots music at various downtown locations. There will be historical exhibits, food, beverages, vendors, games and other activities for the whole family presented by county 4-H Clubs.
A breakfast presentation by author Lynne Gough (Asa and the Holstein Queen) is planned for 9 am, November 5, at Blue Note Brewing to kick off the day.
The fundraiser will help establish a downtown history museum. The venue will be “A toast to Yolo’s pride” and will showcase the amazing heritage of our great county! The future “must see” destination landmark will be sustained by the women and men of Woodland Parlor 30, Native Sons of the Golden West, (the only NSGW chapter in Yolo County). Please help us achieve our goal!
NextHome Golden State is a Grand Champion Patron of this event. Broker/owner Vicki Rae Bourn is a native of Woodland—her family first settled in the Woodland area back in the 1870s.
