SUMMARY:Kids D&D
DESCRIPTION:For ages 9-15 \nJoin us every Saturday at Noon for a fun two hour Dungeons and Dragons adventure. \nSpaces are limited so please secure your tickets in advance To sign up for a specific day please get a ticket for that day. \nThe Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game is about storytelling in worlds of swords and sorcery. Like games of make-believe\, D&D is driven by imagination. It’s about picturing a crumbling castle in a darkening forest and imagining how a fantasy adventurer might react to the challenges that scene presents. \nIn this fantasy world\, the possibilities are limitless. \nUnlike a game of make-believe\, D&D gives structure to the stories—a way of determining the consequences of the adventurers’ actions. Players roll dice to determine whether their attacks hit or miss and whether their characters can scale a cliff\, roll away from the strike of a magical lightning bolt\, or pull off some other dangerous task. Anything is possible\, but the dice make some things more probable than others.

SUMMARY:Family D&D
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Family D&D! \nEach $20 ticket covers 1 Parent and 1 Child. \nIn this beginner friendly group Parents can play with their kids and have a great time with other families for fun D&D one-shots and mini-campaigns. \nHave questions? For more info please email info@daviscardsandgames.com \nThis event will be run by Stephen Gordon and Jacob Johnson. \nAbout Stephen Gordon: \nI started GMing back in 2000 with D&D 3rd Edition\, experimenting with running modules and totally improvising adventures from scratch. Since then I’ve kept up with running games of D&D (even 4th Edition) and branched out into as many other RPGs as I can convince my friends to try. \nThe players matter a lot more than the game to me\, with the right group any RPG is incredible. I love running Dread and other rules light RPGs that focus on atmosphere and narrative. As a player\, I’m a fan of anything Powered by the Apocalypse\, and I have a major soft spot for Lancer because when else can I pilot a mecha and punch a kaiju in the face? A friend once described my style as asking “What’s the most exciting thing that could happen next?” and I think that’s pretty accurate. I’m always trying to find ways to say yes to my players\, and give them chances to do cool stuff. When I do challenge my players I try to do it in ways that don’t take away their agency. \nWhen I’m not reading RPG rulebooks for fun\, I like trying new board games\, watching Star Trek\, and playing Monster Hunter. Professionally\, I’m a freelance technical writer and RPG designer\, and I’m currently in the process of going back to school to become a therapist.

Meet puppets Henrietta the New Bee and Beatrice the Older Sister Bee. Watch live bees in action with the observation bee hive. \n  \n \nMiridae Mobile Nursery \nContainer Gardening with Natives (first come first serve basis with purchase of plant) \nMiridae Mobile Nursery is a customized box truck that transforms into a curbside native plant shop\, selling a large selection of California native plants. All of the profits from Mobile Nursery sales support their science education nonprofit\, Miridae Living Labs. \n  \n \nMiridae Living Labs \nPlay with seed bombs\, bugs\, and plants with Miridae Living Labs! \nMiridae Living Labs is a non-profit organization in the Sacramento area dedicated to using native insects and plants as tools for education\, research\, and community engagement. Miridae Living Labs strives to generate positive ecological changes in our communities under the guidance and leadership of community members. \n  \nStory Reading & Tree of Life Activity with Tuleyome \nTuleyome is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit conservation organization based in Woodland\, California. The word “Tuleyome” (pronounced too-lee-OME-ee) is a Lake Miwok Indian word that means “deep home place”. And that term “deep home place” exemplifies our deep connection to our environment\, our communities and our regional public lands. \n  \n \nDiscover the World of Stingless Bees! \nJean-Philippe Marelli\, owner of Arimubee\, will introduce you to the diversity of stingless bees (Melipona)\, their hive and how the colony is organized. Taste Melipona honey from his Brazillian hives. Profits from Melipona honey sales will go towards his Master beekeeper capstone project which deals with rescuing and rearing Plebeia bees\, the only Brazilian stingless bee species that was introduced in California in the 50’s and that is still present in the Palo Alto area! \n  \nOur Promise to The Earth\nThe environment is important to us. Our goal is to create a completely sustainable event by fostering a culture of environmentalism and diverting waste from landfills. All of our disposables are completely compostable or reusable. How you can help: Sort your waste accordingly with our 3-bin system. Bring your own water bottle to refill at our water station. Biking is also encouraged-we have designated parking for bikes.
