SUMMARY:Family D&D
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Family D&D! \nEach $20 ticket covers 1 Parent and 1 Child. \nIn this beginner friendly group Parents can play with their kids and have a great time with other families for fun D&D one-shots and mini-campaigns. \nHave questions? For more info please email info@daviscardsandgames.com \nThis event will be run by Stephen Gordon and Jacob Johnson. \nAbout Stephen Gordon: \nI started GMing back in 2000 with D&D 3rd Edition\, experimenting with running modules and totally improvising adventures from scratch. Since then I’ve kept up with running games of D&D (even 4th Edition) and branched out into as many other RPGs as I can convince my friends to try. \nThe players matter a lot more than the game to me\, with the right group any RPG is incredible. I love running Dread and other rules light RPGs that focus on atmosphere and narrative. As a player\, I’m a fan of anything Powered by the Apocalypse\, and I have a major soft spot for Lancer because when else can I pilot a mecha and punch a kaiju in the face? A friend once described my style as asking “What’s the most exciting thing that could happen next?” and I think that’s pretty accurate. I’m always trying to find ways to say yes to my players\, and give them chances to do cool stuff. When I do challenge my players I try to do it in ways that don’t take away their agency. \nWhen I’m not reading RPG rulebooks for fun\, I like trying new board games\, watching Star Trek\, and playing Monster Hunter. Professionally\, I’m a freelance technical writer and RPG designer\, and I’m currently in the process of going back to school to become a therapist.

SUMMARY:FREE Dance Class: Pre-Contemporary
DESCRIPTION:The Pamela Trokanski Dance Workshop is celebrating National Arts & Humanities Month by offering free classes throughout the month of October. \nModern/Contemporary Dance began in the late 1800’s / early 1900’s\, as an artistic revolution against the dance of its era\, and has come to influence Jazz\, Ballet\, and Hip Hop\, becoming an integral part of a dancer’s training. The development of Modern technique\, and its evolution into Contemporary\, was based on the personal movement philosophies of different individuals\, creating multiple approaches to this technical form. We focus on building a strong core\, correct alignment\, technical vocabulary that includes outward rotation and parallel work\, contraction and release\, fall and recovery\, leaps\, turns\, jumps\, and transitions between movement levels. Our emphasis is on expanding the strength\, flexibility\, and agility of the dancer’s body\, while cultivating their personal vision\, expressiveness\, and musicality. \nThis class is for kids ages 6-8. \nClass size is limited\, so please contact us to register in advance.
