While she has a small etching press in her home studio\, she also has the opportunity to work in shared community presses in both Walnut Creek and Benicia. She has just started working at Kala in Berkeley where she has access to more printmaking processes. Levin is a member of the California Society of Printmakers.  \n

DESCRIPTION:Peregrine School welcomes you to WISE (Women in Science Expo)\, on Saturday\, March 9\, from 11am – 2pm. The free Expo is a celebration of women in science. WISE features static displays\, interactive demos and presentations by Peregrine students and scientists from the greater community. A schedule of events will be posted on the Peregrine website. The Expo welcomes children of all ages\, their families\, and the public. In addition to the presentations\, El Fogoncito will be onsite offering a wide variety of Mexican specialties including tortas\, quesadillas\, burritos\, mulita and gringas (please note that El Fogoncito only accepts cash\, Zelle and Venmo). WISE will be presented at Peregrine’s South Campus located at 2650 Lillard Drive\, Davis. \n  \nWISE will feature a wide range of topics. To highlight a few of the live presentations\, one will be an exciting presentation about meteorology featuring demos on the mixing of cold and warm air; the power of air pressure (including smashing a can!) and a radiometer. There will also be a complimentary presentation about the interactions between plants\, soil\, and the atmosphere. The presentations will be about 20 minutes long. \n  \nIn addition to the live presentations\, there will be several tables with interactive demos. A few of the topics include a display of preserved insects with live mites for kids to count under a microscope; how data and mathematical modeling is being used to study elk and wolves in Yellowstone and humans in California; elephant interactions including acoustic communication demos and images for other modalities of elephant communication (i.e.\, tactile\, and visual). \n  \nAs you can clearly see\, the Expo will be entertaining\, informative\, and inspiring for all ages! DESCRIPTION:Classic Hollywood cinema returns to the Odd Fellows Hall for a three-week run starting Sunday\, March 31\, 2024. Doors open at 6:30PM; Movie starts at 7PM\nThe Classic Film Festival Committee is coming up on three successive Sundays; March 31\, April 7 & April 14. The films are recommended by Film Critic/Reviewer Derrick Bang and selected by the committee. The genre for the upcoming Festival is “Movies which are much better than their remakes”. A real mouthful! Derrick will speak before each movie enlightening those attending on the plot\, director\, actors\, and fun things to look for while watching. He’ll do a quick Q&A afterwards.\nIt’s free of charge (although donations are always welcome to support classic films). Popcorn is provided free of charge. The Odd Fellows no-host bar is open. The musical duo According to Bazooka will play before each film. \nOn March 31st we’ll be showing the 1955 original version of “The Ladykillers” featuring Alec Guiness and Peter Sellers. \nApril 7th the 1960 classic featuring Rod Taylor\, “The Time Machine” \nApril 14th is the 1966 film that made Michael Caine a star\, “Alfie” \n
