This is a perfect way to support your community gallery while completing your spring cleaning. We encourage donations during the drop off dates of May 22 – 26\, 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM. No need to call-just come in! All donations will receive a tax donation form. Please no glassware\, large furniture\, oversized posters\, or broken items. \nVisit the Gallery on the Treasure Sale dates below to explore the collection of items we’ve received and give them a new\, wonderful home. If you are looking for ‘treasure\,’ we’ll have tons! On display in the Community Gallery\, June 10 – August 14. \n  \nFrank Bettendorf: The Last Road Show \nBettendorf’s watercolor paintings feature abandoned buildings\, railroad cars and trucks\, and roadside attractions\, inspired by his memories from previous explorations of the West. On display in the Learning Center upstairs\, June 3 – June 26. \n  \nGarden Tour Landscape Paintings \nView fantastic paintings that were made by seven local artists during our annual Garden Tour event. In various media\, each artist created a unique vision of the homeowner’s garden. SUMMARY:Pence Gallery Stories on Stage Davis Opening Night Gala
DESCRIPTION:Stories on Stage Davis will kick off its ninth year of literary programming at 7 p.m.\, Saturday\, June 11th with an opening gala fundraiser at the Pence Gallery\, 212 D St. This gala will celebrate Stories on Stage Davis’ return to live programming as well as feature the work of writers Chris Feliciano Arnold\, author of The Third Bank of the River: Power and Survival in the Twenty-First Century Amazon\, and returning Stories on Stage Davis author Austin Smith\, author of Almanac and Flyover Country. \nThe 7 p.m. reception will include a silent auction followed by the program at 7:30 p.m. The silent auction will feature generous donations from local supporters of Stories on Stage Davis\, including artwork\, a handcrafted wooden pen and pencil set\, cello lessons\, a 90-minute massage from A Room of Our Own Massage in downtown Davis\, and an annual membership to the Pence Art Gallery. \nThere are no tickets needed to attend this event\, but monetary donations are strongly encouraged. All proceeds will help support the 2022-23 season. Stories on Stage Davis will follow the Pence Art Gallery’s COVID policies. Masks are optional\, but are strongly recommended.

Held in the heart of Davis\, CA at Central Park (located on C Street between 3rd and 5th Streets). \nThe annual Community Fair includes the Pride Music Festival with two amazing stages of entertainment featuring 25 of the best national entertainers. Several vendor booths\, exhibits\, cultural presentations\, delicious food booths\, and many of your closest friends will also be there! \nThe pride community fair is free and open to everyone with a positive heart and loving mind! The community festival is a safe space for all that attend.  We will have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for discrimination\, fighting\, illegal activities\, and unauthorized solicitors.  Violators will be escorted out of the festival.

SUMMARY:Botanical Blueprints Workshop with Linda Clark Johnson
DESCRIPTION:You don’t need to be an artist to enjoy making beautiful blue cyanotypes! In this introductory class you’ll learn all the basics of this fun and easy alternative photographic technique. Using light sensitive chemicals you’ll expose prints of plants in the sun and process them in water. By the time you leave you’ll have 4 gorgeous 8 x 10 blueprints and the know-how to create more at home. Lots of beautiful plants are budding and blooming during each season of the year. Let’s celebrate the natural world by making botanical blueprints together! \n  \nInstructor Bio: \nLinda Clark Johnson creates original artwork using the cyanotype process. Cyanotype is a historical photographic technique that uses UV light for exposures and produces deep blue images. Linda prints using local plants in her sunny Sacramento backyard. She’s been having fun perfecting her experimental printing style and sharing her knowledge with students of all ages for many years. She holds a BA in Art\, a Masters in Education\, and a teaching credential.
