These donations are separate from Pence membership purchases/renewals. All donations are tax deductible.\n\n\nEach contribution qualifies us for cash prizes\, and your gifts will go even further because we have THREE amazing matching donors:\n\n$2\,500 by Wil Uecker & Karen Fess-Uecker\n$1\,000 by Stephanie Kocsik & Mike Crump\n$1\,000 by Amina Harris\n\n\nThank you for all that you do for the Pence\, the arts\, and for our community! SUMMARY:Senior Citizen BBQ
DESCRIPTION:After a three year delay due to COVID\, the original Rotary Club of Woodland (‘the Noon club’\, founded in 1926)\, will once again be serving up a delicious barbecue chicken luncheon for our local senior citizens (55+)\, FREE OF CHARGE! \n\nThis year’s event will be held Tuesday\, May 9\, once again in the Rotary Park picnic area at the Yolo County Fairgrounds beginning at 11:30am sharp. ‘Our members are gearing up to help our local seniors come together outdoors on a bright spring day\, catch up with old friends and enjoy a great meal prepared & provided with care by local Rotarians’\, says Aniek Pflager\, chairperson for this annual event.\n\nNo tickets are required for this event. Flyers and reminder cards are being distributed to local care homes\, in-home care businesses\, the Woodland Community and Senior Center and elsewhere to get the word out.\n\nWe anticipate every Club member will be on hand to ensure the 400-500 seniors attending are fed promptly. The chicken is dipped and marinated overnight\, then barbecued to perfection and served with potato and fruit salads\, a fresh roll with butter\, and ice cream for dessert. Lemonade\, water\, and coffee are also provided.\n\nThe day of the event buses and shuttles from area care facilities typically start arriving as early as 10:00am to secure their special spot in anticipation of the lunch service. All seniors are welcome to wait at the picnic tables for lunch service to start.\n\nMake sure your favorite seniors mark their calendars for this renewed Rotary springtime tradition. Remember\, lunch service begins at 11:30am and will continue to about 12:15pm or when the food runs out. Please contact Aniek Pflager at 530 665-4118 or aniek@vanbeurden.com with any questions.
