Tai chi (太极) is an ancient Chinese martial art that is practiced mainly for physical and mental health. It is a type of moving meditation in which breathing is coordinated with a series of fluid movements and postures. Class covers basic postures\, movements\, and the simplified 8-form\, with an emphasis on building balance and coordination. Your instructor\, Tina Duan\, is a tai chi expert who trained as a professional in China. Drop-ins welcome. No experience necessary. Wear loose\, comfortable clothing.

All are welcome to attend this free event that coincides with the downtown Woodland First Friday event. \nGallery 625’s upcoming exhibition is a solo show featuring Brown’s Sound Bars series\, and other selected works. The work on view includes two- and three-dimensional pieces using traditional mediums as well as every day and found objects. Whether drawing in space or painting on a surface\, the work aims to embrace combinations of colors and textures\, and to assemble spatial relationships that evoke shared experiences. \nThe artist will attend the opening reception held on Friday\, November 7th\, 5:30-8:00pm\, with remarks at 6:00pm.
