SUMMARY:Lara Downes: Love at Last
DESCRIPTION:Lara Downes Live @ The Melon Ball Album Release & Benefit Concert \nWednesday\, May 10 8:00PM \nEvent Code:  051023TICKET \nDESCRIPTION \nPianist/scholar/historian/awesome human being Lara Downes has graciously offered to perform a benefit concert for Watermelon Music as a release for “Love at Last\,” her upcoming album on Pentatone Records.  She described the project to me as being about “renewal and redemption\,” and suggested it was a perfect theme for helping build back our business after the past few years of upheaval and stress. She recently recorded a Tiny Desk performance on NPR featuring some of the tracks from the album. \nEach $100.00 ticket will include an intimate solo piano performance of tracks from “Love at Last\,” an autographed copy of the CD\, and an after-show reception with wines from Great Bear Vineyards\, beers from Super Owl Brewing\, and a spread from Mabel’s Farm Box.  (Thank you to these great local businesses for participating.)  Funds from this event will go a long way toward helping keep our business afloat and allowing us to continue to work with the music community in and around Davis. \nHuge thank you to Lara for her generosity.
