The indigenous traditions he learned during his time as an eighth grade English teacher on the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona were his inspiration for the critically-acclaimed tune tome. Together\, the series imaginatively and intrepidly connects spheres and generations within a body of work that is irresistibly uplifting\, emotionally resonant\, and down-to-earth authentic. \nEli grew up in the diverse suburb of Silver Spring\, Maryland\, where a blending of incongruous backgrounds made an indelible impact on his pan-culture perspective. Prior to music calling Eli\, he studied in Bloomington\, Indiana\, taught in the US\, and lived in Tel Aviv and Andorra\, before returning to the US to get a Master’s Degree in English Education. \nNow\, Eli is setting out on new adventures. His latest 2022 release\, Walk. Talk. Dance. Sing.\, is an inner travel monologue from the pandemic and beyond. DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE BAND \n\nLynne Maes and Hank Maninger\, along with bandmates Tim Wagar and Leor Beary\, offer distinctive sounds and original compositions that honor traditional country music while deliberately pushing its boundaries. Hank’s driving lead guitar\, perfectly balanced by Lynne’s true-blue vocals\, are – as the old song goes – the right combination. Add tight vocal harmonies\, a rhythm section that can play a country shuffle every bit as well as a country rock anthem\, and you’ve got a dynamic and heartfelt show every time they hit the stage. Nashville Honeymoon is thrilled to feature the pedal steel stylings of Joe Goldmark\, a frequent collaborator and cornerstone of the Bay Area country scene. \n  \n\nROBIN’S NEST \nRobin’s Nest hosts intimate live performances in northern California. Scroll down for concert descriptions and dates. To RSVP\, please use the form below. We will only accept reservations for two people (you and your guest) at a total of three total concerts made at one time. In other words\, please only sign up for three concerts so everyone has a chance to see their desired performers. Additional reservations will be offered 30 days before each concert if there is room. All Shows are from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. Doors open at 5:30. Please bring a low-back lawn chair\, something to drink to share with others\, and a $20 donation per person for the musicians.Snacks will be available but feel free to bring dinner.

DESCRIPTION:Hear What a Century of Musical Experiences Sounds Like\nWhen The Davis Klezmer Orchestra takes to Peregrine Stage \n  \nJuly 17\, 2023 (Davis\, CA) – The Davis Klezmer Orchestra will present a free concert at Peregrine School’s South campus Saturday\, August 12. Peregrine School’s 2023 Second Saturday Family Concert Series is presented with support\, in part\, by a grant from the City of Davis Arts & Cultural Affairs program. There is a suggested donation of $20\, but no one will be turned away due to a lack of funds. There will be an educational presentation at 10:00am and the concert will start at 11:00am. The public is invited to either\, or both\, of the presentations. The gates of Peregrine’s campus (2650 Lillard Drive\, Davis) will open at approximately 9:45am. Outdoor seating is limited and will be on a first come\, first served basis. For information\, contact Peregrine School at (530) 753-5500 and www.peregrineschool.org. \nKlezmer [combination of the Hebrew klei/kli (instrument) and zemer (song)] can be described as party music! Its lively infectious melodies and rhythms have made it ideal for weddings\, parties\, and religious celebrations. Typically lacking vocals\, klezmorim imitate the voice with virtuosic\, often humorous\, performance techniques. This will be a toe-tapping concert! \nThe Davis Klezmer Orchestra are Moreen Libet (viola and the sister of R. Libet)\, Julie Cooper (violin)\, Ralph Libet (violin)\, Nick Carvajal (guitar and drums)\, and Steve O’Neil (bass). Each band member has an extensive performing history\, so much so that their cumulative experience spans more than a century! \nA 501(c)3 non-profit\, founded in 2007\, Peregrine School is an independent school that builds children’s capacity to learn\, think and do in our ever-changing world. Peregrine is the only progressive school in the Sacramento Valley. From the Bay Area\, Russell and Kaplan bring their unique Americana sound\, driven by Russell’s gorgeous voice\, eclectic and engaging songwriting and the couple’s dynamic instrumental arrangements.
