DESCRIPTION:October 9th is the release date for Anton Barbeau’s latest album\, Come Home To Me. The record features performances from Colin Moulding and Dave Gregory (XTC) as well as Andy Metcalfe\, Donald Ross Skinner and Terry Edwards. \nAnton is pleased to bring his All Time Xmas Band to the Melon Ball to launch the album. Watch out Steinway! \nAnton Barbeau\, a Sacramento native and lifelong songwriter\, has released nearly 40 albums\, including his latest\, Come Home To Me\, a joint release between Gare du Nord (UK)\, Rock Indiana (Spain) and Think Like A Key (USA). After 2025’s “Dad death\, DMT and Steely Dan” trilogy\, Come Home To Me is a *somewhat* more straightforward affair\, with clean\, jangly pop songs like “World Calls Love” and the title track demanding attention. Still\, there’s always room for musical mischief on an Anton album\, as the floppy P-Funk of “I Touched The Butter” demonstrates. \nBarbeau has worked with members of XTC\, Cake\, The Pretenders\, The Soft Boys and the Bevis Frond. In Sacramento\, the local newspaper might struggle to spell his name correctly\, but in England\, Stewart Lee stands in the front row at his gigs. DESCRIPTION:Jim Bruno is a San Francisco Bay Area based published songwriter. He taught Songwriting at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley and at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills both for 11 years. \nHe’s also taught Songwriting Workshops at Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music\, at Far-West Music Conference\, at San Francisco State University’s High Sierra Campus and more. \nSongs he’s written have been recorded and released by Shawn Colvin\, Chuck Prophet\, Mary Lou Lord\, Cliff Eberhardt\, Thad Cockrell\, Maurice Tani and Laurie MacAlister. \nAs a performing songwriter he has performed with or opened shows for the following artists: Shawn Colvin\, Timothy B Schmidt of the Eagles\, Graham Parker\, John Gorka\, Charlie Musselwhite\, Joe Ely\, Greg Brown\, Steve Forbert\, Bill Morrissey\, Big Twist\, and Cliff Eberhardt. He’s performed at the Greenwich Village Folk Festival\, the Udine Folk Festival in Udine\, Italy and has toured five times in Europe. He also played bass\, guitar and sang in the Shawn Colvin Band for several years and often performed with Shawn as a duet. \nHe has signed numerous song publishing agreements including Largo Music in New York and Bug Music in Los Angeles. \nEnrollment is $20\nParticipants are asked to bring a printed lyric sheet to the event

DESCRIPTION:Live at The HIVE presents Ideateam during an outdoor concert. Doors at 5:30pm; Music at 6:30pm. \nIdeateam is a Sacramento-based musical team who collectively collaborate to refine their craft through their distinct original compositions\, along with an array of both vintage and modern cover arrangements. The band’s live sets flow in and around a winding fusion of grooves while leaning on a foundation of experimental funk\, soul\, and R&B sounds. \nEnjoy a seasonal menu\, craft beverages and complimentary honey tasting at northern California’s largest honey and mead tasting room. \nPay what you can cover charge: $0-$20/person. Family and dog friendly. All ages welcome. No outside food or drinks. \nThe Live at The HIVE concert series features an incredible lineup of local and touring bands in September and October. A sliding scale suggested cover charge helps to ensure all community members are welcome.
