DESCRIPTION:Art in Action: Celebration Stations Part 1\nSunday\, February 8\, 1-3 PM\n$5 Members\, $10 Non-Members (per person\, all materials included)\nTreasure the Pence with us by constructing your very own treasure box! Learn how to build an incredible treasure chest using origami paper\, decorative ribbons\, and more. Also make art with your community by joining us for a collaborative weaving project that includes yarn\, a rug canvas\, pom poms\, and other fiber materials. \nHow it works:\nArt in Action engages kids in art projects that are fun\, creative\, and collaborative with their family members. This is a drop-in program for ages 5-12. No registration in advance is required\, but space and supplies are limited to the first 25 participants and are available on a first come\, first served basis. When you arrive\, pay with cash or card at the front desk. A parent or adult caregiver is required to stay\, but only has to pay for the project for themselves if they are also doing art. Stay as long or as short as you like over the two hour period. \nWe have a different Art in Action family workshop every month! DESCRIPTION:Join the Manetti Shrem Museum for an afternoon of art\, communal bread breaking\, and stimulating conversations aimed at inspiring action toward a more just\, resilient and empathetic world. Anchored by the exhibition “Sahar Khoury: Weights & Measures\,” the program weaves together dialogue and za’atar making with award-winning Bay Area chef and community organizer Reem Assil and Charlotte Biltekoff\, the UC Davis Darrell Corti Endowed Professor in Food\, Wine and Culture;guided tastings; hands-on activities with UC Davis cultural and agricultural community resources; pop-up gallery talks; and art making. \nPresented in partnership with the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science\, the UC Davis Library\, the UC Davis Student Farm\, American Studies Department\, Department of Food Science and Technology\, and Human Library Organization.
