DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening reception of our 19th Annual Art Farm exhibition featuring Art Harvest and Juried Silent Auction artwork. \nYolo Arts is pleased to be celebrating our Art Farm exhibition with an opening reception on September 17th\, 2026 from 5:30-8:00pm. This exhibition features Northern California artists and artwork inspired by the farmlands of Yolo County. Come and join us as we celebrate the wide variety of artwork entered into the Art Harvest and the Juried Silent Auction! The evening will also feature local wine and refreshments. This event is free and open to the public. \nThe evening reception will include the 6:30 p.m. announcement of the juried prize winners by guest juror Bryan Valenzuela. Three artists will receive cash prizes for Best in Show\, Best in Plein Air and Best in Photography. \nThe Art Farm season will conclude with a fun art fest celebration event on Saturday\, October 17 from 2-5:30 pm at the Gibson House property in Woodland. Start with decorative art papers and string to create your own flock of birds\, and then add simple and fun touches using washi tape\, feathers\, and more. \nHow it works:\nArt in Action engages kids in art projects that are fun\, creative\, and collaborative with their family members. This is a drop-in program for ages 5-12. No registration in advance is required\, but space and supplies are limited to the first 25 participants and are available on a first come\, first served basis. \nWhen you arrive\, pay with cash or card at the front desk. SUMMARY:Everything You Touch\, Touches You: A Hands-On Collaborative Ceramic Installation
DESCRIPTION:Join ceramic artist Pinar Brummer for a hands-on\, community-led gathering at International House Davis\, in two parts. Together\, we’ll shape a collaborative tree sculpture\, then slow down to hand-build our own small ceramic pieces. No experience needed\, just a willingness to show up\, get elemental\, and tap into some childlike joy. \nPinar opens the gathering with her own story\, her journey from Türkiye to Davis\, and how it inspired this project\, before inviting you to get your hands in the clay and be your childlike self. \nPart One: The Tree. Everything you touch\, touches you is a reflection on togetherness\, on how we’re not just observers but active participants in a shared experience\, connected to each other and the world around us. At the heart of the gathering is an incomplete ceramic tree\, hand-built by Pinar\, waiting for your mark. You’ll shape a clay leaf to join it\, no skill required\, each one becoming part of a lasting\, collective piece. \nPart Two: The Tea Cup. Pinar will guide you through hand-building a small\, imperfect tea cup\, a slow\, meditative practice that celebrates flaws rather than smoothing them away. \nThe finished tree will be on display at International House for several weeks\, then celebrated at a Reveal Party where you’ll see how everyone’s marks came together into one collective piece. \nCome ready to get your hands dirty and leave a piece of yourself behind. DESCRIPTION:Figure Drawing Group\nWednesday\, September 23\, 6:30-9 PM\n$15 Members\, $22 Non-Members | Limited to 10 participants\nRegistration & payment is required in advance through the Pence’s website. \nWe hold self-guided figure drawing sessions with a nude model every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month\, from 6:30-9 PM. This group is for both experienced artists and amateurs to have an opportunity to draw from the nude model. If you have never drawn from a live model before and would like to join us\, you are very welcome! People of all skill levels\, ages 18 and up\, are welcome and encouraged to join. \nThis is not a class\, and no instruction is provided. The atmosphere is relaxed and non-competitive. Bring your own art materials\, and we’ll provide a comfortable place to sketch or paint live models in our upstairs classroom space. Participants will work independently through a warm up with shorter poses and longer\, twenty-minute poses.
