SUMMARY:2nd Friday ArtAbout: Slice\, Found\, and Exhibit It
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Pence Gallery for our 2nd Friday ArtAbout reception on July 8 from 6–9 pm (free admission). We will have three fantastic exhibits on display: \n  \nSlice: A Juried Exhibit of Regional Art (awards @ 7:30 pm) \nSlice is a display of contemporary art in all media that celebrates artists from all over California. This year’s juror is Chris Daubert\, artist\, writer\, and curator\, who chose pieces that are conceptually thoughtful\, technically skilled\, and representative of contemporary trends in art. On display June 21–Aug. 17. \n  \nFound \nThis exhibit features sculptures by various contemporary artists\, fabricated by assembling discarded or recycled objects into a cohesive whole. Since Found’s opening reception unfortunately could not take place as planned\, we hope you’ll attend the July 8 reception to celebrate the show. On display June 10–Aug. 14. \n  \nExhibit It! A Community Art Show (awards @ 8:00 pm) \nThis exhibit showcases the talent of our community’s artists. We are accepting 50 artworks for this non-juried exhibit\, and you can vote for your favorite artist to win the Public Choice award. The Curator’s Choice award will be announced during the reception. On display July 8–Aug. 14. \n  \n— \n  \nBrowse our exhibits and gift shop\, and explore other art venues in Downtown Davis.
