SUMMARY:Davis Craft and Vintage Fair
DESCRIPTION:Davis Craft and Vintage Fair began as the Square Tomatoes Craft Fair more than 10 years ago! The event was started by instructors from the UC Davis Craft Center in order to have a monthly craft fair for local artisans and the local community. We embraced local vintage vendors in 2017\, we’ve grown and we are still home to local artists and makers from the Davis and greater Sacramento area. \nWe collaborate with local non-profits starting with Couleurs Vives Art Studio who joined us in 2018! Many of our talented vendors can be found at other festivals like the Davis Phoenix Coalition’s Pride Fest\, the I-House’s International Festival\, and 2nd Friday ArtAbouts on E Street Plaza. \nExpect to see friendly vendors with local handmade and original art\, crafts\, quality vintage items\, upcycled treasures\, earth-friendly creations\, good food\, and more. Free live music fills the open space for a lively atmosphere so be sure to stop by and join us!  \n

SUMMARY:“Happy Hour” Schorré Chevalier Oldham: Paintings including Acrylic & Paper Collages
DESCRIPTION:Schorré states that her exhibit\, Happy Hour\, is about facing uncertainty with optimism. “Working daily with my simplified palette in solitude allows me to create what makes me happy.” The limited color palette of red\, yellow\, and blue with black and white provided unlimited possibilities. Project 365’s small collages were constructed using papers created on a gel plate with acrylic paint. The prints are texture-rich with repetitive and irregular patterns. The larger paintings\, while using the same elements\, expanded her use of color\, depth\, and rhythm. \nThis body of work is her way of making sense of the world around her. In the midst of big life changes requiring shifts in perspective\, making art was\, and is\, her lifeline. Working daily with the simplified palette in solitude allows Schorré to create what makes her happy.

SUMMARY:Impression//Path Opening Reception at Gallery 625
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Gallery 625 for the opening reception of Impression//Path! All are welcome to attend this free event that coincides with the downtown Woodland First Friday event. \nImpression//Path is a solo show featuring work by Sacramento Artist\, Ember de Boer. In this exhibition\, translucent acrylic and resin are used to extend the experience of water as a light shimmer on the gallery walls. Water is vital for life\, and vital to our region. Featured artworks represent the rich history of our region through the narrative of water use and flooding. These works highlight the vital choices that lie ahead and the challenges that face us as we decide the future of water in our region. \nThe artist will attend the opening reception held on Friday\, February 6th\, from 5:30-8:00pm. Light refreshments\, Yolo County wine\, and live music by Jon Spivack will round out the evening which is free and open to the public. \nEmber de Boer will be hosting an Artist Talk on Zoom on Thursday\, March 5 at 6:00pm.
