DESCRIPTION:AXIS Gallery to Host\nYOUTH ART EXHIBITION\nMay 1–31\, 2026 \nSecond Saturday Reception: May 9\, 5-8 PM \nYouth Art Showcase Displays Prominent Works From Sacramento’s Young Artists \nAxis Gallery is supporting Sacramento’s next generation of creatives. Youth Artists K-12 will exhibit their artwork during May 1 – 31\, 2026 at Axis Gallery located at 625 S Street\, Sacramento\, CA 95811. The Artist Reception will be on “2nd Saturday”– May 9th\, 2026 at 5pm-8pm. \nThe exhibition will feature artwork from Student Champions of Chalk It Up’s Annual High School Self-Portrait Competition. The winning and “Best of Medium” Youth Artists will have an amazing opportunity to share with the public an expansion of their creative art portfolios. \nAXIS Gallery is providing Youth Artists with an experience of having an art exhibition in a professional gallery. “The youth art exhibition is a unique opportunity for young artists to gain experience in a professional Gallery setting\,” stated Artist-Member and Program Coordinator\, Delgreta Brown. \n“Young Artists will have a reputable gallery to add to their artistic resume– it’s a highly coveted and critical thing to have for jumpstarting a career in the arts for emerging artists\,” Ms. Brown related. \nAdditionally\, the AXIS Youth Art Exhibition will feature phenomenal indoor murals created by Sacramento-area Youth Artists from the nonprofit arts organization the ARTners Collaborative. \nDuring the Artist Reception\, youth artists from the literary and performing arts community will ignite AXIS Gallery with their talented works. \nAXIS Gallery invites the public to attend this awesome experience which celebrates youth creativity in multiple artforms.

DESCRIPTION:Experience Argentine culture through sight\, sound\, taste\, and movement in this interactive\, community-centered event. Designed as a participatory journey\, the program invites you to connect with traditions\, share stories\, and build meaningful connections across cultures. \nPart 1: Journey Through Argentina | 60 minutes \nBegin in the I-House’s lounge with an interactive exhibition highlighting five regions of Argentina. Through traditional crafts\, instruments\, textiles\, and photo displays\, you’ll explore the country’s cultural diversity while enjoying small tastings like Malbec\, dulce de leche\, and chimichurri. Argentine community members will share stories and guide the experience. \nPart 2: Folklore Dance Workshop | 90 minutes \nIn the I-House’s Community Room\, join a 90-minute dance workshop led by Veronica Flores. Through movement and music\, you’ll learn the basics of traditional dances such as carnavalito and gato in a welcoming\, beginner-friendly environment. \nPart 3: Peña-Inspired Musical Gathering | 90 minutes \nThe evening concludes outdoors with a relaxed\, live music gathering inspired by a traditional Argentine peña.
