SUMMARY:2nd Friday ArtAbout at the Pence Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Pence for our 2nd Friday ArtAbout reception on January 12\, 6 – 9 PM. Enjoy some wine while browsing the art exhibits and gift store. Free admission! \n  \nChristina Kent: Day to Night \nJan. 9 – Feb. 29 \nView a solo exhibit by Christina Kent\, the recipient of the Pence’s Emerging Artist Award 2023. Kent expands upon her observations of everyday life in the city in a new series of oil paintings that capture intimate scenes of daily life. Having used travel journals to record and expand upon her experiences around the world\, she has a wealth of visual moments to share. This exhibit largely centers on her vignettes from these travels\, alongside rural scenes from our region. \n  \nJoseph Bellacera: The Matter of Light \nDec. 8 – Feb. 2 \nView several series of work by Joseph Bellacera that reflect his interest in changing light into matter\, and matter into light. In large-scale mixed media works and digital prints\, the artist turns his observations of the natural world into intriguing configurations of color\, pattern\, and texture. \n  \n— \n  \nVisit the Pence and other venues in Downtown Davis for the 2nd Friday artwalk. We will have printed ArtAbout guides available that week. Follow the 2nd Friday ArtAbout Facebook page for more information: https://www.facebook.com/davisartabout. \n  \nImages: \nChristina Kent\, “Date Night In The Mission” (detail) \nMisuk Goltz\, “Old Quarter of Hanoi” \nJoseph Bellacera\, “Vertical Light #3”
