DESCRIPTION:Join us for 2nd Friday ArtAbout at the Pence Gallery on May 13 from 6 to 9 pm. We will be having an opening reception for a new exhibit\, Seasonal Gestures: Paintings by Gayle BonDurant. Her work features drawing and paintings using several media\, from cold wax and oil paint to graphite and watercolor. BonDurant’s exhibit runs May 1 through May 29. Our two other exhibits—On the Edge: CCA Clay and Life Whispers\, Listen Carefully by Marsha Schindler—are ending on May 15\, so this is the perfect chance to see them if you haven’t. \n  \nBrowse our exhibits and gift shop and explore other art venues in Downtown Davis. SUMMARY:Pence Gallery Night Market
DESCRIPTION:Come discover some great art from young up-and-coming artists and support your local art scene! This free community event encourages young visual artists to display and sell their artwork\, ranging from prints and paintings to ceramics and jewelry. The Night Market will take place the evening of Friday\, May 20. Admission is free. The participating artists will be handling their own sales via cash\, checks\, and mobile pay apps (such as Venmo and Paypal). Plus\, they’ll get to keep all of their proceeds! \n  \nDate: Friday\, May 20 | 6–9 pm | Free admission \nAddress: Pence Gallery – 212 D Street\, Davis \n  \n— \n  \nWant to participate as an artist at the Night Market? \n  \nArtists ages 16–25 who are interested in selling their art should apply by emailing images and prices of their work to Katharine Schultz at pencegallery@gmail.com. The Pence provides a venue at $15/artist. Artists will need to bring their own table to set up a booth\, but we can provide chairs. Art sales are handled by participants and all proceeds go directly to the artist. Space is limited\, and the deadline to apply is May 2.
