Both tai chi and qi gong offer numerous benefits\, including stress reduction\, improved posture\, increased mindfulness\, and enhanced energy levels. Regular practice improves balance\, flexibility\, and strength while fostering relaxation and focus. This class covers the simplified tai chi chuan 8- and 24-forms\, and is suitable for beginners. People with limited mobility may participate in a chair. 10a – 11a. First session is free.

DESCRIPTION:The Short Term Emergency Aid Committee (STEAC) is a Davis-based private non-profit that assists low-income Yolo County residents with basic needs. The Speaker Series provides a forum for local experts in the fields related to STEAC’s mission to share their knowledge and perspective to our community. \nThis month\, guest speaker Londell Earls\, Executive Director of the Yolo County Homeless and Poverty Action Coalition (HPAC)\, will present on the work that HPAC does and how they support our community. HPAC provides leadership on homelessness and poverty in Yolo County with collaboration from providers\, City and County staff\, and more. This team helps review and update policies\, helps assess gaps in services\, and much more.

DESCRIPTION:Chris Pilon featured at February 25th Performers’ Circle \nDavis-based folksinger and songwriter Chris Pilon will play a solo show as the featured performer at the Village Homes Performers Circle\, Tuesday February 25\, 7 PM at the Odd Fellows Hall in Davis. \nChris is celebrating his recent release\, “A Family Album\,” engineered and co-produced by Steve O’Neill at internationally renowned Foxtail Sound in Dixon: https://chrispilon.hearnow.com/a-family-album. Set to wide-ranging musical styles\, Chris’ lyrics explore the joys and sorrows of family life with energy\, humor and poignancy. \nChris loves the support and enthusiasm that characterizes each and every Village Homes Performer’s Circle\, and is looking forward to showcasing a few tunes from the album along with some classic folk songs (in the key of H for Hootenanny!) because he believes that communal singing heals and inspires us. \nThe Village Homes Performers’ Circle is a free event that welcomes performers of all levels as well as audience members who simply come to enjoy the performances. No tickets or reservations are required. It is held the fourth Tuesday of each month\, except December. \nThe event begins with an open mike from 7:00 to 8:15 pm and concludes with the featured performance from 8:30 to 9 pm. Signups begin at 6:45 for the short performances (less than 5 minutes per act). The emcee this month will be George Haver. The event will be held at the Odd Fellows Hall\, 415 2nd Street\, Davis.
