DESCRIPTION:The Pamela Trokanski Dance Workshop is celebrating National Arts & Humanities Month by offering FREE classes throughout the month of October. \nModern/Contemporary Dance began in the late 1800’s / early 1900’s\, as an artistic revolution against the dance of its era\, and has come to influence Jazz\, Ballet\, and Hip Hop\, becoming an integral part of a dancer’s training. The development of Modern technique\, and its evolution into Contemporary\, was based on the personal movement philosophies of different individuals\, creating multiple approaches to this technical form. We focus on building a strong core\, correct alignment\, technical vocabulary that includes outward rotation and parallel work\, contraction and release\, fall and recovery\, leaps\, turns\, jumps\, and transitions between movement levels. Our emphasis is on expanding the strength\, flexibility\, and agility of the dancer’s body\, while cultivating their personal vision\, expressiveness\, and musicality. \nThis class is for kids 8 and older. \nClass size is limited\, so please contact us to register in advance. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Pamela Trokanski Dance Workshop is celebrating National Arts & Humanities Month with free classes throughout the month of October. \nDyathMotion (Dynamic Athletic Motion) is an excellent conditioning program for anyone 8 years and older. It began in 1967 when Tasé\, a basketball player\, began ballet lessons. Tasé applied the lessons learned in the Ballet Studio to the playing fields with great success. Tasé continues to use DyathMotion as his primary form of fitness. \nThe DyathMotion class begins with floor exercises and progresses to moving activities which enhance and refine our way of moving. DyathMotion uses a variety of isotonic\, isometric and kinetic exercises which will increase agility\, core strength\, range of motion\, quickness and spatial awareness. \nThis class is for anyone age 8+. \nClass size is limited\, so please contact us to register in advance. \n

SUMMARY:Free Class: Beginning Jazz (Youth)
DESCRIPTION:The Pamela Trokanski Dance Workshop is celebrating National Arts & Humanities Month with free classes throughout the month of October. \nJazz was born from the African dance forms that survived and evolved on the plantation\, developing into a theatrical style in post-slavery America. Through its history of minstrel shows\, vaudeville and burlesque\, its interaction with other dance styles and its relationship with the music of Gospel\, Blues\, and Jazz\, it has made its mark as a “made in America” dance form. It is characterized by the use of isolations\, syncopated rhythms\, poly-rhythmic patterns\, and the use of movement that “ripples” out from the center of the dancer’s body. Our Jazz classes also include a Ballet component\, allowing dancers to become fluent in technique that utilizes outward rotation as well as parallel work. Choreography in this style may range from Broadway\, to Street Funk or Hip Hop influenced\, to lyrical or old style / “Retro” Jazz. \nThis class is for kids age 8+. \nClass size is limited\, so please contact us to register in advance. \n

It is characterized by the use of isolations\, syncopated rhythms\, poly-rhythmic patterns\, and the use of movement that “ripples” out from the center of the dancer’s body. Our Jazz classes also include a Ballet component\, allowing dancers to become fluent in technique that utilizes outward rotation as well as parallel work. We focus on building a strong core\, correct alignment\, technical vocabulary that includes outward rotation and parallel work\, contraction and release\, fall and recovery\, leaps\, turns\, jumps\, and transitions between movement levels. DESCRIPTION:The Pamela Trokanski Dance Workshop is celebrating National Arts & Humanities Month with free classes throughout the month of October. \nFor students new to Pilates\, this class introduces concepts such as careful movement control\, relaxed concentration\, body alignment\, position flow\, and breathing. The class emphasizes Pilates exercises based on yoga. Each class sequence of standing and mat exercises has a theme\, and is unique. A gentle warm-up is followed by strength and flexibility exercises\, and a warm-down. The peaceful flow of movements aims for steady progress and to leave you feeling energized.  \nThis class is for teens and adults. Students should bring their own mat. \nClass size is limited\, so please contact us to register in advance. \n
