SUMMARY:“Happy Hour” Schorré Chevalier Oldham: Paintings including Acrylic & Paper Collages
DESCRIPTION:Schorré states that her exhibit\, Happy Hour\, is about facing uncertainty with optimism. “Working daily with my simplified palette in solitude allows me to create what makes me happy.” The limited color palette of red\, yellow\, and blue with black and white provided unlimited possibilities. Project 365’s small collages were constructed using papers created on a gel plate with acrylic paint. The prints are texture-rich with repetitive and irregular patterns. The larger paintings\, while using the same elements\, expanded her use of color\, depth\, and rhythm. \nThis body of work is her way of making sense of the world around her. In the midst of big life changes requiring shifts in perspective\, making art was\, and is\, her lifeline. Working daily with the simplified palette in solitude allows Schorré to create what makes her happy.

DESCRIPTION:Figure Drawing Session\nWednesday\, March 25\, 6:30-9 PM\n$15 Members\, $22 Non-Members | Limited to 10 participants\nRegistration & payment is required in advance through the Pence’s website. \nWe hold self-guided figure drawing sessions with a nude model every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month\, from 6:30-9 PM. This group is for both experienced artists and amateurs to have an opportunity to draw from the nude model. If you have never drawn from a live model before and would like to join us\, you are very welcome! People of all skill levels\, ages 18 and up\, are welcome and encouraged to join. \nThis is not a class\, and no instruction is provided. The atmosphere is relaxed and non-competitive. Bring your own art materials\, and we’ll provide a comfortable place to sketch or paint live models in our upstairs classroom space. Participants will work independently through a warm up with shorter poses and longer\, twenty-minute poses. DESCRIPTION:Registration for Davis Forest School Summer Camps opens on Sunday\, March 1 at 8 am! \nLike our drop-off programs during the school year\, our summer camps offer a thoughtful blend of child-led exploration and play\, and facilitated activities\, including nature crafts\, nature awareness-based games and activities\, and naturalist studies. Each group brings a unique energy\, with varying abilities and desires\, so no two weeks will be exactly the same! \nThis summer we will have concurrent week-long day camps for 5-12 year olds at both the Putah Creek South Fork Preserve and the Putah Creek Riparian Reserve every week. All camps will run from 8 am to 2 pm\, with a flexible drop-off window from 8-8:30 am. Tuition is $310/week. \nWe also have several weeks of Little Coyotes Summer Camp for ages 3-6. Little Coyotes Summer Camp will run from 9 am to 2 pm\, with a flexible pick-up window from 1:30 pm – 2 pm\, and tuition is $310/week.
