DESCRIPTION:The HIVE’s 2023 FREE summer concert series is in full swing! Come jive and jam with Carol and Guy\, a vocal duo performing the greatest hits from the golden oldies! Enjoy live music\, delicious food & drinks\, and complimentary honey tastings. All ages\, families\, and dogs are welcome! \nAbout the Band: \n“Carol & Guy” are a vocal duo\, with Guy on guitar.  They love to sing select songs from the 50’s\, 60’s and early 70’s.  Both have studied music most of their lives and have been in various bands around Woodland CA and Roseburg OR.  They are often joined by Carol’s sister\, Peggy\, adding rich three-part harmony to their sound. Once high school sweethearts at Woodland High School\,  Carol & Guy reconnected 40 years later\, and are now sharing their love for memorable music. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Art in Action Family Art Workshops
DESCRIPTION:Family Art Workshops: Look\, it’s new! \nThis summer\, the Pence Gallery invites children and their families to participate in the return of our family art workshops! Our program\, Art in Action\, offers kids ages 5-12 engaging art projects that prioritize having fun and learning together with parents or adult caregivers. Projects are designed to introduce kids to making their own artwork by experimenting with creative ideas and materials. Our resident art teacher will introduce you to the wealth of possibilities in our upstairs classroom. This is a drop-in program\, with no registration required.  \n  \nHow it works: \nThere is a fee per child of $5 for Pence members or $10 for non-members\, and you can pay at the door with cash or card. (Become a member starting at $65/year and save!) A parent or adult caregiver is required to stay\, but only has to pay for the project if they are also doing art. Stay as long or as short as you like over the two hour period. \n  \nWorkshop on Sunday\, September 17\, 1 – 3 PM: \nThis program offers exciting projects on the drop-in dates of Jul. 23\, Aug. 20\, and Sep. 17. The September workshop is Dot & Scrape Paintings! All ages\, families\, and dogs are welcome! \nAbout the Band: \nWhether it’s their powerful messages\, original eclectic funky-circus tunes\, or vibrant energy\, The Midnight Dip captivates and compels an audience. This five-piece band from Sacramento\, California is witty and unapologetically sincere–confronting gender stereotypes and promoting body positivity. Their captivating\, high-energy performances take the audience through a unique and creative theatrical experience. The Midnight Dip is headed by the sultry and moxie Liz Kat\, who’s voice is mesmerizing and soulful with an undeniable depth of feeling.Though most of the members have a jazz background\, the band’s music is unpredictable\, with an eclectic blend of swing\, funk and polka. This double-keyboard combo is everything sweet and salty\, and can perform to a wide variety of audiences\, from funky dance tunes in a club to soulful jazz in a seated environment. \n  \n
