Her talk will also cover modifiable risk and protective factors as well as ways to enhance brain health and reduce the risk of cognitive decline. Dr. Farias is the director of the California Alzheimer’s Disease Center at UC Davis Health. In The Power of Awe\, therapist Jake Eagle and chronic pain specialist Michael Amster\, MD\, share their extraordinary yet simple mindfulness practice that turns ordinary moments into awe-inducing experiences\, helping you effortlessly achieve a heightened state of consciousness usually reserved for seasoned practitioners of mindfulness—all within a matter of seconds. \nAbout the Author\nMichael is a San Francisco Bay Area-based physician and faculty member at Touro School of Medicine. As a pain management specialist\, Michael is keenly aware of the integration of mind\, body\, and spirit and the effects of physical and psychospiritual pain on health and well-being.\nMichael is a student of meditation for over 30 years\, as well as a certified yoga teacher and meditation teacher trained at Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
