DESCRIPTION:Two gymnastics classes for children are now offered on Wednesdays after school at the Davis Arts Center!\nGymnastics promotes overall physical fitness by enhancing strength\, flexibility\, balance\, and coordination. Through structured routines and exercises\, kids develop strong muscles and bones\, ensuring a healthy foundation for their growth. Gymnastics also nurtures discipline and perseverance as young athletes learn to master new skills through consistent practice and dedication. The sport also fosters self-confidence and boosts self-esteem as children witness their progress and achievements over time.\n\n\nTumbling & Flipping Class Wednesdays 2-3PM.\nIn this class\, children will learn the basics of gymnastics\, and additionally focus on learning a variety of tumbles\, handsprings\, and somersaults. These are the most exciting skills in gymnastics\, and by practicing them children develop a strong and powerful body.\n\nRhythmic Gymnastics Class Wednesdays 3-3:30PM.\nRhythmic gymnastics\, one the most beautiful of the Olympic categories\, is a synthesis of sport\, art\, and aesthetics. This form of gymnastics combines light equipment manipulation with expressive movements from gymnastics\, ballet\, dance\, and acrobatics. Students will learn how to move gracefully while manipulating rope\, hoop\, ball\, stick\, and ribbon.

DESCRIPTION:Art in Action: Fanciful Fairy Houses \nSunday\, March 9* | Session #1: 12 – 2 PM\, Session #2: 2:30 – 4:30 PM \nOur fairy houses are back! Create your own magical fairy hideaway using a variety of decorative and natural materials\, including tree trunk slices\, moss\, acorns\, wooden mushrooms\, flowers\, and more. \n  \nHow it works: \nArt in Action engages kids in art projects that are fun\, creative\, and collaborative with their family members. This is a drop-in program\, for ages 5-12\, with no registration required. Space and supplies are limited to the first 25 participants per session and are available on a first come\, first served basis. \n  \nThere is a fee of $5 for Pence Members or $10 for Non-Members (materials included). The price is per person\, per session. You are welcome to attend both. Pay at the door with cash or card. A parent or adult caregiver is required to stay\, but only has to pay for the project for themselves if they are also doing art. \n  \n*Please note that starting in January 2025\, the Art in Action program will be moving to one workshop per quarter due to limited funding. We’ll be offering two sessions per workshop\, however\, to include more opportunities for families to participate. \n

DESCRIPTION:Two gymnastics classes for children are now offered on Wednesdays after school at the Davis Arts Center!\nGymnastics promotes overall physical fitness by enhancing strength\, flexibility\, balance\, and coordination. Through structured routines and exercises\, kids develop strong muscles and bones\, ensuring a healthy foundation for their growth. Gymnastics also nurtures discipline and perseverance as young athletes learn to master new skills through consistent practice and dedication. The sport also fosters self-confidence and boosts self-esteem as children witness their progress and achievements over time.\n\n\nTumbling & Flipping Class Wednesdays 2-3PM.\nIn this class\, children will learn the basics of gymnastics\, and additionally focus on learning a variety of tumbles\, handsprings\, and somersaults. These are the most exciting skills in gymnastics\, and by practicing them children develop a strong and powerful body.\n\nRhythmic Gymnastics Class Wednesdays 3-3:30PM.\nRhythmic gymnastics\, one the most beautiful of the Olympic categories\, is a synthesis of sport\, art\, and aesthetics. This form of gymnastics combines light equipment manipulation with expressive movements from gymnastics\, ballet\, dance\, and acrobatics. Students will learn how to move gracefully while manipulating rope\, hoop\, ball\, stick\, and ribbon.
