DESCRIPTION:Pence Gallery Garden Tour 2025 \nSunday\, May 4\, 2025\, noon – 5 PM \n  \nStroll through six gardens throughout Davis on the Pence Gallery Garden Tour\, savoring the beauty of spring and learning about gardening from Yolo County Master Gardeners. View local artists Leslie Allen\, Patrick Cosgrove\, Raquel Cox\, Karen Fess\, Marlene Lee\, and Barbara Smithson as they paint outdoors in the gardens. At the Pence\, enjoy three stunning art exhibits by regional artists\, a free snack bag (limited to the first 150 people)\, and a quick tour at 2 PM by our Director of the Biophilia exhibit. The Garden Tour is a major fundraising event that supports the mission of the Pence Gallery\, a nonprofit art organization that serves the community through exhibits and programs promoting the work of local and regional artists. \n  \nTickets will be available for purchase starting April 4: \nGarden Tour tickets are $25 for Members\, $30 for Non-Members\, and $35 the day of the event. You can purchase them at the Pence & www.pencegallery.org\, and Redwood Barn. Tickets purchased online through our website will be ready for pick up at the Pence the following business day. SUMMARY:Alaskan Indie Music: Ashley Young with Heart Machine @ The Blue Rose
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a house concert with traveling indie bands from Alaska in our beautiful backyard in Woodland! Just below the Arctic Circle\, in the heart of her Ancestral land in Alaska\, songwriter Ashley Young captivates with her fiery\, lush vocals. From whispered confessions to powerful\, soaring belting\, her dynamic performances are best described as “journal rock\,” where every note tells a personal story. Her melodies can silence a room\, while her laughter fills it with life. The Blue Rose is proud to be a stop on her fourth west coast tour. Ashley is the 2023 winner of the LIFT Award from the Native Arts & Cultures Foundation. She and her band have shared the stage with acclaimed acts like Australian future soul band Hiatus Kaiyote\, Grammy Award-winners Portugal. The Man\, and Medium Build. They’ve also graced the main stages of Áak’w Rock Indigenous Music Festival and Sundown Solstice Festival. DESCRIPTION:Bring a picnic and the kids to enjoy live music at this annual fundraiser for Davis Parent Nursery School. The UC Davis Marching Band will be there\, along with musical performances from talented DPNS parents. Children’s face painting\, baked goods and coffee will also be available for sale. Tickets are $5 in advance or $8 at the door\, and kids under 2 are free. DPNS is a nonprofit\, parent co-op preschool that’s helped to raise the Davis community for more than 75 years\, offering a combination of parenting education and play-based preschool programs for children ages 1-6 years old.
