DESCRIPTION:Pence Gallery Garden Tour\nSunday\, May 3\, 2026 | Noon – 5 PM \nStroll through five gardens throughout Davis on the Pence Gallery Garden Tour on May 3\, savoring the beauty of spring and learning about gardening from Yolo County Master Gardeners. View local artists Leslie Allen\, Patrick Cosgrove\, Raquel Cox\, Misuk Goltz\, Kristina Kernytska\, Marlene Lee\, and Barbara Smithson paint outdoors in the gardens. At the Pence\, enjoy three stunning art exhibits by regional artists\, and a free snack bag (limited to the first 150). Don’t miss the last day of our Garden Art Sale taking place inside the gallery from April 24 – May 3 this year\, including stepping stones\, planters\, sculpture for outside display\, and more! \nTickets available April 3:\n$30 Pence Members\, $35 non-Members\, $40 day of event at Pence & www.pencegallery.org\, and Redwood Barn. Tickets purchased online through our website will be ready for pick up at the Pence the following business day. SUMMARY:Willow Basketry: Weave a Gathering Basket
DESCRIPTION:Basketry is a time-honored craft rooted in place\, patience\, and practice. In this hands-on workshop led by Samantha Iacobello\, participants will learn the basics of “Stick and Strand” style basketry and create a 10” Berry Basket with a handle. Your finished basket will be perfect for garden harvests\, trips to the farmers market\, or gathering forest school treasures. Participants will have the opportunity to work with willow varieties sourced by Samantha from local watersheds\, including ‘Creek Willow\,’ ‘Sandbar Willow\,’ and ‘Purple Osier Willow’ along with cultivars and landrace varieties grown in her gardens. \nAll tools and materials will be provided. This workshop requires hand strength\, the ability to do repetitive hand movements\, and comfort sitting on the ground for extended periods of time. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring a cushion or low lawn chair for seating\, as well as a favorite utility or pocket knife if you have one. Please bring your own lunch\, snacks\, and drinking water – we will be enjoying a lunch break together halfway through the day. \nSliding scale cost of $70-$100 (pay what you can). Ages 12+ welcome. Only 10 spots available! \n
