SUMMARY:Seeing The Same Thing Differently
DESCRIPTION:A collaborative exhibition by husband and wife David Kalb and Nancy Gelbard\, exploring how two artists respond to the same moments using lens and brush. David’s street photographs capture spontaneous\, unguarded scenes from everyday life. Many of Nancy’s oil paintings are created directly from these photographs. In addition to their shared artistic experience\, each artist is also exhibiting individual pieces of their work.

Using these Mediterranean image references\, participants will explore landscape\, architectural\, and figurative subjects rich in light\, atmosphere and color. Students will focus on designing harmonious compositions\, developing value studies for each subject\, and working with limited color palettes to achieve cohesive\, painterly results. DESCRIPTION:Figure Drawing Session\nWednesday\, April 8\, 6:30-9 PM\n$15 Members\, $22 Non-Members | Limited to 10 participants\nRegistration & payment is required in advance through the Pence’s website. \nWe hold self-guided figure drawing sessions with a nude model every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month\, from 6:30-9 PM. This group is for both experienced artists and amateurs to have an opportunity to draw from the nude model. If you have never drawn from a live model before and would like to join us\, you are very welcome! People of all skill levels\, ages 18 and up\, are welcome and encouraged to join. \nThis is not a class\, and no instruction is provided. The atmosphere is relaxed and non-competitive. Bring your own art materials\, and we’ll provide a comfortable place to sketch or paint live models in our upstairs classroom space. Participants will work independently through a warm up with shorter poses and longer\, twenty-minute poses.
