DESCRIPTION:Art in Action: Celebration Stations Part 2\nSunday\, March 8\, 1-3 PM\n$5 Members\, $10 Non-Members (per person\, all materials included)\nShow your love for the arts by decorating the perfect containers for your art supplies and other craft items! Learn the art of decoupage by experimenting with tissue paper\, scrapbook paper\, fabric\, dried flowers\, paint pens\, and more. \nHow it works:\nArt in Action engages kids in art projects that are fun\, creative\, and collaborative with their family members. This is a drop-in program for ages 5-12. No registration in advance is required\, but space and supplies are limited to the first 25 participants and are available on a first come\, first served basis. \nWhen you arrive\, pay with cash or card at the front desk. A parent or adult caregiver is required to stay\, but only has to pay for the project for themselves if they are also doing art. DESCRIPTION:Figure Drawing Session\nWednesday\, March 11\, 6:30-9 PM\n$15 Members\, $22 Non-Members | Limited to 10 participants\nRegistration & payment is required in advance through the Pence’s website. \nWe hold self-guided figure drawing sessions with a nude model every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month\, from 6:30-9 PM. This group is for both experienced artists and amateurs to have an opportunity to draw from the nude model. If you have never drawn from a live model before and would like to join us\, you are very welcome! People of all skill levels\, ages 18 and up\, are welcome and encouraged to join. \nThis is not a class\, and no instruction is provided. The atmosphere is relaxed and non-competitive. Bring your own art materials\, and we’ll provide a comfortable place to sketch or paint live models in our upstairs classroom space. Participants will work independently through a warm up with shorter poses and longer\, twenty-minute poses. DESCRIPTION:Gel Printing Workshop with Sara Post\nSaturday\, March 21\, 9:30 AM – 4 PM\n$170 Members\, $190 Non-Members (Materials not included) \nUnder the guidance of artist Sara Post\, students will explore the ins and out of gel printing. Participants will experiment with layering\, masks\, stencils\, and other gel printing techniques\, as well as work with a variety of papers. Gel prints\, beautiful in themselves\, are also a wonderful way to make handmade papers for collage or under layers for painting. Using these Mediterranean image references\, participants will explore landscape\, architectural\, and figurative subjects rich in light\, atmosphere and color. Students will focus on designing harmonious compositions\, developing value studies for each subject\, and working with limited color palettes to achieve cohesive\, painterly results. SUMMARY:Figure Drawing at the Pence
DESCRIPTION:Figure Drawing Session\nWednesday\, March 25\, 6:30-9 PM\n$15 Members\, $22 Non-Members | Limited to 10 participants\nRegistration & payment is required in advance through the Pence’s website. \nWe hold self-guided figure drawing sessions with a nude model every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month\, from 6:30-9 PM. This group is for both experienced artists and amateurs to have an opportunity to draw from the nude model. If you have never drawn from a live model before and would like to join us\, you are very welcome! People of all skill levels\, ages 18 and up\, are welcome and encouraged to join. \nThis is not a class\, and no instruction is provided. The atmosphere is relaxed and non-competitive. Bring your own art materials\, and we’ll provide a comfortable place to sketch or paint live models in our upstairs classroom space. Participants will work independently through a warm up with shorter poses and longer\, twenty-minute poses. DESCRIPTION:The Pence Joins Yolo Fest This Spring! \nThe Pence Gallery\, a unique nonprofit art gallery highlighting local & regional artists\, is participating in the county-wide Yolo Fest this spring. From March 27-29\, 2026\, Yolo Fest celebrates the region’s agriculture\, music\, arts\, culture\, farm-to-table food\, craft beverages\, recreation\, and local hospitality. \nThe Pence Gallery in Davis will be open with three spectacular art exhibits from 11:30 AM – 5 PM\, and admission is free to view these displays by these visual artists: \nManuel Fernando Rios: When They Reminisce Over You\nFebruary 7 – March 29\nIn his exhibit\, Rios shares his interest in themes that explore his Chicano heritage\, as well as his family’s history and experiences. Blurring the line between naturalism and abstraction\, the artist embraces the use of complex design patterns\, photography\, and text to make a powerful statement. \nAssorted Flavors: Pence Member Exhibit\nMarch 13 – April 16\nView 40 works of art created by Pence Members in this widely ranging annual display of paintings\, photographs\, textiles\, and more. \nBarbara Prodaniuk: Myths in Mud\nMarch 13 – April 26\nProdaniuk is a ceramic artist whose work is inspired by the forest\, meadows\, and waterways of the Truckee area. She explores stories carried by the animals and artifacts found in these environments. \nSpecial Weekend Activities \nSelf-guided Scavenger Hunt:\nMarch 28-29\, 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM\nFree to participate!\nJoin us for a fun\, art-themed scavenger hunt at the gallery by exploring the Pence’s exhibits. Complete all of the clues for the chance to be entered in a raffle to win a $25 gift certificate to the Pence gift store! A raffle winner will be selected and contacted at 4:30 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. \nPrintmaking for All Ages\nSunday\, March 29\, 1-3 PM\n$5 Members | $10 Non-Members (per person\, all materials included)\nIn this workshop\, printmaking is made easy! Learn how to create bold and colorful block prints using a Styrofoam plate\, printmaking ink\, and a few simple tricks and techniques. This is a drop-in program for all ages\, and no sign-ups are required in advance. Children ages 5 and up may participate if they are accompanied by an adult.
