SUMMARY:Opening Reception: Lyrical X Carlaina Brown
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Gallery 625 for the opening reception of Lyrical X Carlaina Brown! All are welcome to attend this free event that coincides with the downtown Woodland First Friday event. \nGallery 625’s upcoming exhibition is a solo show featuring Brown’s Sound Bars series\, and other selected works. The work on view includes two- and three-dimensional pieces using traditional mediums as well as every day and found objects. Whether drawing in space or painting on a surface\, the work aims to embrace combinations of colors and textures\, and to assemble spatial relationships that evoke shared experiences. \nThe artist will attend the opening reception held on Friday\, November 7th\, 5:30-8:00pm\, with remarks at 6:00pm. Light refreshments\, Yolo County wine\, and live music by Jon Spivack will round out the evening which is free and open to the public. \nLyrical X Carlaina Brown continues at Gallery 625 through December 26\, 2025. \nGallery 625 is located at 625 Court Street in Woodland\, in Yolo County’s Erwin Meier Administration building and is open Monday – Friday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. For information or to purchase artwork\, contact YoloArts by calling or texting 530-309-6464 or emailing ya@yoloarts.org.

Free admission! \nRobert Ortbal: Encounters | Oct. 10 – Nov. 30\nRobert Ortbal combines a vast array of both common and odd materials\, applying them in endless variations to create small-scale\, uniquely masked figures\, traveling-case environments that house them\, and wearable sculptures that are\, at times\, worn outside the gallery environment in performative public works. \nHoliday Market | Nov. 14 – Dec. 24\nThe Pence’s Holiday Market is a treasure trove of handcrafted items made by regional artists and artisans\, perfect for holiday gift giving. Visitors can shop from cozy knit scarves\, unique jewelry\, ceramics\, paintings\, and much more. Painting mainly from life\, Raquel portrays a wide variety of subjects but is particularly fascinated with observing the structure\, delicacy\, vibrancy\, and impermanence of flowers. \nMarlene Lee: Surrounding Landscapes | Oct. 3 – Nov. 16\nView a series of oil paintings by plein air painter Marlene Lee along the stairway. The artist portrays the farms and ranches she visited while participating in Yolo Arts’ Art & Ag Project. In her work\, she captures the different shades of greens or reds of the landscapes\, as well as small details that reveal signs of human habitation. \nScavenger Hunt: Join us for a fun\, art-themed scavenger hunt at the Pence during the 2nd Friday ArtAbout. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening reception of Inspired… All are welcome to attend this free event! \nThe Barn Gallery’s upcoming exhibition is a collection of work created by Teaching Artists working in Yolo County featuring: Angelo Esquivel\, Cara Gregor\, Emma Montalbano\, Katie DelaVaughn\, Linda Fitz Gibbon\, Melissa Uroff\, Mikaela Watson\, and Tomás Montoya. \nMeet eight of YoloArts’ Teaching Artists and Educators who are constantly activating the cycle of Inspiration in our community in this group exhibition that highlights their professional artistic practices. The common thread between the artists exhibited is their connection to YoloArts’ education programs that work directly with the youth and community members around the county. They have each become masters at working WITH a community instead of FOR a community\, encouraging participants to create something incredible of their own. \nInspired… centers what these artists create and celebrates the cycle of inspiration that enables and fuels their own artistic practice. This show includes Ceramic\, Digital Illustration\, Installation\, Mixed Media\, Painting\, Photography\, and Printed art works. \nThe opening reception for will be held on Thursday\, November 20th 5:30-8:00 p.m. with acknowledgements and a raffle of YoloArts Swag at 6:00 p.m. Music by Jon Spivack.
