Also\, view special floral arrangements within the exhibits by the Davis Flower Arrangers. Free admission! \nManuel Fernando Rios: When They Reminisce Over You | Feb. 7 – Mar. 29\nThe artist’s work explores his Chicano heritage\, as well as his family’s history and experiences. Blurring the line between naturalism and abstraction\, he embraces the use of complex design patterns and photography to make a powerful statement. \nAssorted Flavors: Pence Member Exhibit | Mar. 13 – Apr. 16\nOur 2nd annual non-juried exhibit celebrates the creativity and talent of our organization’s supporters\, showcasing work in different media by 40 Pence Members. \nBarbara Prodaniuk: Myths in Mud | Mar. 13 – Apr. 26\nThe ceramic artist’s work is inspired by the forest\, meadows\, and waterways surrounding the Truckee area. She explores the stories carried by the creatures and artifacts found in these environments through layered surfaces\, organic textures\, and sculpted imagery. \nLoraine Watson-Fox: Small Wonders | Mar. 6 – Mar. 29\nThe artist employs mixed-media including collage\, text\, thread and textural elements to enhance her use of more traditional paint media. Her work is on display along the stairway. \nDavis Flower Arrangers: Art in Bloom | Mar. 13 – Mar. 15\nIn a special collaboration\, the Davis Flower Arrangers have put together creative floral arrangements to be paired with specific artworks on view at the Pence. \nScavenger Hunt: Join us for a fun\, art-themed scavenger hunt at the Pence during the 2nd Friday ArtAbout. SUMMARY:Residue of Ritual Opening Reception at The Barn Gallery
DESCRIPTION:The Barn Gallery’s upcoming exhibition Residue of Ritual: an exhibition of the discarded is a two-person show featuring works by artists Tana Quincy Arcega and Michael Ryan. The exhibition opens with a reception from 3 – 6 p.m. on Saturday\, March 14 with local wine and light refreshments. The Gibson House will also be open to the public during the event. \nIn Residue of Ritual\, Quincy Arcega and Ryan curate a spectacle of objects and images culled from the endless deposits of residual materials resulting from our accelerated growth economy. Their visual commentary angles on the cultural mindset of mass production and waste as well as the vast array of ritualistic systems and customs that produce them. \nBoth artists share a visual language based in realism that journeys toward abstraction through mimicry\, utilizing traditional art media and building materials to accomplish this end. With a fascination for textures\, the artists bring to light the hidden materials that pervade our landscapes\, from plastic packaging to fashion waste. \nResidue of Ritual is on view at The Barn Gallery March 14 through May 23\, 2026. Regular open hours of The Barn Gallery are Tuesdays\, Wednesdays\, and Thursdays from 12-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 12-3 p.m. \nThe Barn Gallery and the Gibson House are located at 512 Gibson Road in Woodland.
