DESCRIPTION:Artists Talk with Gina Werfel & Hearne Pardee \nSaturday\, March 16\, 3 – 4:30 PM \n(FREE\, $10 suggested donation) \n  \nJoin artists Gina Werfel and Hearne Pardee at the Pence as they discuss their process and inspiration behind their respective recent work in their exhibit Fragments\, on display from February 9 – April 2\, 2024. This is a free event\, no registration required. \n  \nFragments highlights recent paintings\, collages\, and drawings by Werfel and Pardee\, who both have recently retired from teaching at UC Davis\, after having spent more than 20 years teaching art\, in addition to maintaining busy studio practices. DESCRIPTION:Art History Lecture Series: Allison Grenda \nThe Parthenon Through the Ages: From Ancient Rituals to Modern Controversies \nSaturday\, March 23\, 1 – 2 PM via Zoom (Free\, suggested $10 donation) \n  \nOriginally built in the 5th century B.C.\, the Parthenon in Athens has undergone many evolutions over the past two and a half millennia\, from temple\, to church\, to mosque\, to armory\, and finally\, to the tourism site and national symbol of Greece that it is today.
