DESCRIPTION:Taught by David Abramson using the Wernick Method \nDavis\, CA\nWatermelon Music\, 1970 Lake Blvd\, Davis CA 95618\nFriday 1:00-6:00pm; Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm; Sunday 10:00am-4:00pm\nTuition: $300 \nBluegrass Jam Camp (Wernick Method) in Davis\, California\nWernick Method Classes teaching real bluegrass jamming! \nHands-on learning in large and small groups.\nNo jamming experience necessary.\nYou will be jamming the first hour! \nAll bluegrass instruments welcome.\nFull ground rules and etiquette of typical jams. \nIntermediates welcome\, and given added challenges. \nFriendly\, encouraging\, knowledgeable teaching.\nGentle tempos! Mistakes expected!\nMusic/tab reading not needed or used.\nEar skills taught and emphasized\, as in real bluegrass.\nLearn many bluegrass standards. \nSinging not required\, but encouraged and taught.\nSoloing not required! “Faking” solos taught. \nHow to lead songs and how to follow new songs.\nHow to find melodies\, fake solos\, sing harmony.\nGroup and individualized instruction on backup skills.\nUnderstanding\, low-pressure\, time-tested teaching. \nDo you qualify? It’s easier than you may think!\nIf you play guitar\, mandolin\, banjo\, fiddle\, bass\, or dobro… you can be part of a bluegrass jam.\nOnly requirements – be able to:\nTune your instrument\, and\nChange smoothly between G\, C\, D\, and A (or the notes that work on bass and fiddle)

SUMMARY:Kyle Rowland Live @ The Melon Ball
DESCRIPTION:Kyle Rowland powers through the reeds of a Harmonica\, honoring the rich traditions of American rhythm & blues\, soul\, and gospel. Rowland quickly and naturally developed his own sound\, with help from a few of his heroes such as James Cotton\, Lazy Lester\, Hubert Sumlin\, Billy “Boy” Arnold\, Matt “Guitar” Murphy\, Henry Gray\, Charlie Musselwhite\, and many others. Through these pioneers\, Rowland learned specific techniques of stage presence\, the music business\, and several highly revered harmonica secrets\, evident in his performances. \nIn August of 2022\, Rowland signed an endorsement deal with Hohner harmonica company\, which he has proudly used for his 20+ year career. Recently with the help of Hohner\, Rowland has had the opportunity to teach the harmonica to hundreds of children across the United States\, Mexico\, and Cuba. In 2024\, he was inducted as the youngest member into the Sacramento Blues Hall of Fame\, where he began his musical journey at the age of 10. In both 2024 and 2025\, Rowland placed as a simi-finalist in the International Blues Challenge\, in Memphis Tennessee. In Spring of 2025\, Rowland signed with Little Village Foundation\, a California based record label\, and released his critically acclaimed album NOT HOLDING BACK!\, securing a 2026 Blues Music Award nomination for “Best Emerging Album.” \n$20 General Admission
