The Pence Gallery, a nonprofit art organization founded in 1976, strives to a place of artistic learning and engagement. Its mission is to serve the community through offering high caliber art exhibits by local and regional artists, supporting the development of local artists, and providing educational programs to visitors of all ages. Exhibits include thought-provoking thematic displays, juried exhibits, and collaborations with community groups and other partners.

The Pence has also evolved into an educational resource for elementary, high school and University students through its ArtSmart student workshop, Teens Take Charge group, and college internship program. Hands-on workshops in various media also encourage adult participants to experiment and create guided by talented artists. Every first Friday, visitors can explore the arts through performance, music, food and games in our Art After Dark program.

The gift shop displays hand-crafted arts and crafts created by artists from across the nation. During the holidays, our store is overflowing with textiles, jewelry, ceramics, and small gift items by local artisans. Many art lovers join as members to receive discounts on event tickets, or our gift shop, and to get exclusive information on upcoming exhibits and programs.
