There are several other great resources for finding arts and culture events, exhibits, performances, and other creative activities in the Davis area:
Davis Enterprise | UC Davis Arts & Entertainment | YoloArts | Visit Yolo
Join us at the Pence for our 2nd Friday ArtAbout reception on August 11, 6 – 9 PM. You can enjoy some wine while browsing the art exhibits on display. We will also have live music by Davis Diplomacy, a folk music group, from 6 – 8 PM. Free admission.
Slice: A Juried Exhibit of Regional Art
Jul. 11 – Aug. 20
This year’s Slice selection celebrates the diversity of expression in our region with an array of sculptures, prints, paintings, and photography created by 31 visual artists. Juried by Kelly Lindner, Curator for the University Galleries at California State University, Sacramento, Slice represents a fascinating snapshot into what contemporary issues and approaches artists are addressing through their work.
Sayako Dairiki: Mended Memories
Jun. 27 – Aug. 20
Sayako Dairiki’s paintings echo sashiko, the traditional Japanese mending technique of garments and blankets that involves repeated stitching in geometric shapes or lines. Her work delights the eye in the repeated geometry of various shapes, inspired by ‘mending’ as a metaphor for healing and reconnecting with others.
Exhibit It! A Community Art Exhibit
Jul. 5 – Aug. 18
Each year, we highlight the talent of our local artists in Exhibit It!, a non-juried community art show. You can view 50 fantastic artworks and vote for your favorite artist to win the Public Choice award, announced at the end of the show.
