PENCE GALLERY. Manuel Fernando Rios is a painter, printmaker, and Professor of Art at Woodland Community College. In his exhibit, Rios shares his interest in themes that explore his Chicano heritage, as well as his family’s history and experiences. PENCE GALLERY. Barbara Prodaniuk is a ceramic artist whose work is inspired by the forest, meadows, and waterways surrounding the Truckee area. THE PAINT CHIP. Seeing The Same Thing Differently is a collaborative exhibition by husband and wife David Kalb & Nancy Gelbard, exploring how two artists respond to the same moments in distinct yet connected ways. AXIS GALLERY, SACRAMENTO. Artists Doug Dertinger and Nick Shepard will be in conversation on their current exhibitions. The images in Stalker by Dertinger navigate terrains where emptiness, silence, and light can become conditions of consciousness, where place can shift from environment to presence, wholly other, sentient and responsive. The Known World contains images that vary in subject matter and technique but remain grounded in Shepard’s ongoing concern with how photographs are built, how spaces are assembled, and what is concealed in the process. 1p—2p. THE ARTERY. This show presents Robin Lynde’s and Garry Everett’s two distinct artforms. Robin’s vibrant hand-woven textiles, ranging from wraps to refined home goods, use sophisticated color, pattern, and structure. Garry’s stunning wildlife and landscape photography demonstrate an expressive color palette and clarity of composition. His images capture the natural world while emphasizing the emotions that color can evoke. The artists show how color shapes perception and illuminates form, bridging the worlds of fiber and light. PENCE GALLERY. Linda Clark Johnson is a Sacramento artist who primarily works with cyanotype, an early photographic process that uses UV light to create luminous blue images without a camera or negative. She prints in her backyard, capturing botanical impressions and their shadows on watercolor paper or fabric. She then uses natural toners, collage, watercolor, and colored pencil to add layers of depth and detail to her work. 11:30a—5p. Free
