Under the guidance of a professional potter, students will throw pots, cut them in half, & analyze each to identify areas of improvement. The focus is on skill-building, so students will leave with enhanced technique rather than finished pieces. Register for all three days or register for individual days. DAVIS ARTS CENTER. Come build your very own sculptural vessel with the coil-building technique in this multi-day workshop! Explore the intersection between form and function while learning the basics of coil building. Students will leave the workshop with an understanding of coil-building techniques and 1-2 vessels to decorate your home or give away as gifts. Price includes clay, access to tools,and firing. Final pieces will be available for pick-up a few weeks after the workshop ends. 10a – 1p. $200

We will be open in conjunction with the 2025 California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Arts (CCACA) by the John Natsoulas Gallery. This is a free event at the Pence, & visitors can enjoy browsing our art exhibits and complimentary wine. Exhibits on display include the Biophilia: Our Longing for Nature group show, Flights of Fancy: Frankie Hansbearry & Marsha Elam upstairs, and Watercolor by Joanne Andresen’s Watercolor Class along the stairway. 6p – 9p.
